In their first major collaboration together, Icelandic cellist Saeunn Thornsteinsdottir and pianist Daniel Anastasio offer a program rooted in viscerality. Mythical music by Leoš Janáček, along with movements of Shostakovich's raw Cello Sonata and Zoltán Kodály's rarely performed gem Sonatina for Cello and Piano, will set a tone of emotional depth before a set of open improvisations. Using the work of Pauline Oliveros and her concept of 'sonic awareness'  as a primer, Saeunn and Daniel will lead the audience through an experience of participation, presence, and connection that aims to unlock new perceptions.
