Jalen Colton Sanchez

Jalen Colton Sanchez is a dynamic, emerging mixed-media collage and sculpture artist born in San Antonio and based in Dallas, TX. He is currently pursuing his BFA in Studio Art with a concentration in sculpture at the University of North Texas. From a young age, Jalen has been drawn to art, exploring his creativity through various outlets. While his passion for art has always been present, it wasn’t until 2023 that he fully committed to his artistic practice. Jalen has earned numerous awards and recently began teaching workshops. His work draws inspiration from a range of interests, including primitive art, indigenous cultures and the history of the Americas, our harmony with nature, and the improvisational spirit of jazz music. Utilizing mixed-media techniques, he creates tangible representations of his imaginative ideas, allowing him to freely translate his visions into reality. Jalen’s creative process is fueled by a firm belief in divine inspiration, which he views as the source of his distinctive artistic vision.
