Belinda Rosen, oboe

Belinda Rosen has garnered an international presence playing the oboe and English horn to a wide range of audiences throughout the U.S., South America, and Europe.  She currently serves as the acting principal oboe of the San Antonio Philharmonic and is thrilled to be joining the Presidents’ Own Marine Band in Washington D.C. as an English hornist/oboist this spring.

Belinda has performed with numerous orchestras, including the San Francisco Symphony, Houston Symphony, Sun Valley Music Festival, Santa Rosa Symphony, Berkeley Symphony, Monterey Symphony, and Princeton Symphony, among others.

She holds a Performance Studies Certificate from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, a Master of Music in Oboe Performance from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, and a Bachelor of Music in Oboe Performance from the University of Michigan. In addition to her performing career, she serves on the faculty of the ECPSM at Queens College and the 92nd Street Y.

Born and raised in Belle Harbor, NY, Rosen is a proud graduate of the renowned LaGuardia High School for Music & Art and the Performing Arts. Her major teachers include Eugene Izotov, Robert Atherholt, Pedro Diaz, and Nancy Ambrose King.
